Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender (or a hand-held stick blender) and whizz until completely smooth
Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary
Divide the hot dog mixture into three and use hands to shape into sausage shapes (make sure they’re long enough for your hot dog buns!)
Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and place the hot dogs in the pan once hot
Cook on a medium heat for around 7 minutes, then use a spatula to carefully turn them over
Cook for a further 7 minutes on the other side, until slightly browned on both sides
Serve in hot dog buns with lettuce and mayonnaise, if desired
This recipe uses tinned kidney beans, which are already cooked. If using dried kidney beans, you must be very careful to soak and cook them according to the instructions on the packet, because uncooked kidney beans contain toxins and will cause digestive problems!
