This Vegan Black Sesame Latte is rich, creamy and wonderfully indulgent, but it's also naturally sweetened and really healthy!
I've recently absolutely fallen in love with unsweetened cashew milk, and I've especially enjoyed using it to make Golden Milk.
It's become my go-to milk for making hot drinks (like hot chocolate and matcha lattes) because it becomes deliciously rich, creamy and slightly frothy when it's heated up.
And because I absolutely love black sesame, I just had use it to make a hot drink with this cashew milk.
Black sesame is deliciously nutty and surprisingly delicate, and pairs especially well with date syrup, which I discovered is a perfect healthier substitute for kuromitsu (a Japanese sugar syrup that’s similar to molasses).
You can either buy black sesame seeds and crush them yourself using a pestle and mortar or a spice grinder, or buy them ready-crushed. You'll be able to find ready-crushed black sesame seeds at Asian supermarkets.
And if you can't get hold of black sesame seeds, you could substitute it with black sesame tahini.
Not only is it delicious, black sesame is packed full of health benefits too! It supposedly boasts anti-ageing powers, lowers cholesterol and blood pressure, is full of zinc and calcium for healthy bones and hair, and helps with indigestion!
Love sesame as much as I do? Check out my:
