16 Vegan Chocolate Cake Recipes (Gluten-Free)

    Last updated - February 12, 2020; Published - January 30, 2019 By Rhian Williams 7 Comments

Here are 16 of my favourite Vegan Chocolate Cake Recipes, including everything from simple chocolate sponge cakes to fruity chocolate cakes like orange and cherry, to nutty chocolate cakes like hazelnut and peanut butter and a seriously decadent chocolate mousse cake. There's also a white chocolate cake as well as recipes for a quick and easy chocolate mug cake, a chocolate cheesecake and chocolate cupcakes!

So, whether you're looking for a chocolate cake recipe for a special occasion like a birthday, Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day or just everyday, you're bound to find something you like!

All of these vegan chocolate cake recipes are also refined sugar free and gluten-free (though you can still make them with normal flour if you want).

    1. Chocolate Cake

A simple chocolate sponge enveloped in a velvety chocolate buttercream - it's made with sweet potatoes but you won't be able to notice!

How long does it keep for?

Best when fresh, but keeps covered in the fridge for up to a few days.

I’d be interested in making flour from different grains I eat to see what happens. I imagine it’s cheaper than buying them as flour!
